MANIFESTO ELECTED. 

Frodsham Town Council is our local parish council.  Yet most residents don't know what it does, what it could do or are simply disinterested. 

We want it to see this change.

Our Town Council should be working at the heart of the community - with us and for us.

Help us bring about change on 5 May 2011.

Our common manifesto:

We love Frodsham - it’s a fantastic place to call home with a great community.

We want a Town Council that lives up to and reflects the aspirations of all parts of our community. We want a Town Council that is fit for purpose, one that plays a major role in the life of Frodsham and is committed to working with all parts of the community, voluntary and faith groups, partner organisations and volunteers for the benefit of all of us.

In short we want change.

We want a dynamic, committed and active Town Council interested in its people and its town. 

We are committed to:

  • A real conversation with you to discuss the big issues and what we want to do about things in Frodsham;

  • Being open and transparent in everything we do; consulting you about how we spend the Town Council’s budget and what its priorities should be;

  • Working with you to draw up a Town Plan that sets out our common aims and aspirations for Frodsham and then putting that plan into action;

  • Working smarter and getting everyone involved who wants to be; and

  • Promoting the interests of Frodsham and its community.

Those of us who are standing for election on this common manifesto are committed to working together with you and for you; seeking consensus and agreement where we can regardless of our personal political preferences.   We will put Frodsham first.

We invite everyone to support us. 
If you think this is a sensible approach for getting more done in Frodsham and you want to see change in Frodsham Town Council that will benefit all of us please vote for us on 5 May 2011.

Why we need change

We need change.  We need a Town Council that has:

  • strategic vision;
  • a willingness to learn, to listen, to collaborate, to co-operate, to consult;
  • a willingness to work in partnerships with others; and with
  • the creativity to innovate.

We think Frodsham is disillusioned and distinterested in its Town Council and we want to see that change.

We respect everyone - even those with different political views from our own. 

Those of us seeking election on this common manifesto come from different walks of life. We are no different from anyone else in Frodsham.  Amongst us are people that have voted and will no doubt continue to vote for Labour, the Liberal-Democrats and Conservatives and their are loads of us who are very, very independent.

No-one political party or philosophy holds sway amongst us.  And those candidates who are members of poltical parties are committed as we all are to putting Frodsham first. 

If you elect us to run the Town Council there will be no party meeting deciding things in advance of Town Council meetings.  There will be no decisions behind closed doors deliberately excluding others.  There will be no mean-spirited behaviour.  All of us live in Frodsham, love Frodsham and are committed absolutely and unequivocally to do our best for Frodsham and its wonderful community.  Let's have a Town Council we need and deserve. 

In 2007 we didn't have elections as there were only 16 candidates for the 16 seats.  This time we want the people of Frodsham to have a choice.  If you choose us we will transform the way the Town Council operates for all our benefit.  We will make the Town Council listen to the community and make it work for all of us.
